Donations
Renegade Library accepts donations of books to build its collection. Materials should fall into the purview of the library and should be in new or like-new condition.
Guidelines for Donated Items
No moldy, musty or water damaged items;
No dirty items (greasy, food-stained, insect infested, etc.);
Items unmarked by pens, pencils, crayons or highlighters;
No physically damaged items (i.e., have broken bindings, loose or torn pages, damaged covers, or damaged cases);
No textbooks;
No nonfiction titles over five years old;
No materials weeded from other libraries.
The library does not currently take audiovisual materials such as CDs or DVDs. Items that do not fit into the collection will be disposed of as the library sees fit.

Guidelines for Monetary Donations
Monetary donations are given in person or online. None of these donations can be used for personal use by organizers or volunteers. The library only takes unrestricted gifts.
Monetary donation is only used for:
Materials for library programs
Book purchasing
Space rental for library
Circulation and Collection
Checkout
No card or identification is required to take items out. Records are kept of items that are checked out, but until required, records won’t be kept of patrons.
Items marked as reference can’t be taken, but can be used for the period the library is open.
Patrons can take no more than two items each session.
Loan Periods
Items can be taken out for a month, until the next open session.
Fines and Lost Items
There are no late fees for items. If items are lost, the patron can bring in another book or a pay-what-you-can monetary donation.
Payment
We are only able to take cash or online donations.

Collection is built primarily through purchases of members of the organization and donations.
Display of Outside Materials
Informational brochures, flyers, pamphlets, posters or arts and crafts may be displayed with the library. Library materials will be given first priority. Materials that promote LGBT health, community, or events are always welcome and will be displayed with library materials.
No advertisements or endorsements should be displayed. Organizers will use best judgement in accepting items.
